We’ve got plenty to do here at Watsons, but with winter proving to be one of the best (and least busiest) times to scope out your own backyard, we’ve got our top picks of how to really enjoy the next few months.
Love drawing? Or would like to try it? Come along to this fun and lively Life Drawing class taught by Rachel Carroll in our Hamptons Conference Room. They say you never explore your own city, so why not get really into it and head to the Sydney Opera House and take a tour inside. Most people will never see the beautiful architecture from the middle of what is one of Sydney’s busiest locations.
Watch out for Benny on the on the northern VIP steps. This wild long-nose fur seal can be seen all year round, with winter spotting being the highest!

You’ll catch some of the year’s best sunsets during winter. You’ll see more colours of the spectrum in the sunsets, with our famed pink sunsets making an appearance more often than summer. It’s a scientific fact, and our favourite reason to visit in Winter.
Grab the seats at the front of our Sunset Room, you’ll get a view over Beach Club and Sydney Harbour.
Want to see Sydney from the most unique perspective possible? Sydney Seaplanes, a local to the Eastern Suburbs, will take you on a joy ride over the Harbour and you’ll see the sights from a stunning perspective. Then finish your day at Watsons with dinner as you watch the sunset.
Start or end at Watsons by simply catching the ferry from Rose Bay Wharf, only a 3 minute walk from Sydney Seaplanes.
May to November sees whales pass through Sydney for their annual migration, and Watsons is the perfect place to be picked up and taken our to get up close and personal.
Speak to your provider and ask to see if they pick up from Watsons Bay wharf. That way you can start the day with a drink!
Taronga Zoo is one of the world’s best zoos, and we’re lucky that it’s a quick trip across the harbour on a ferry from Watsons. Open from 9.30am – 4.30pm daily throughout winter, that’s plenty of time to catch the meercats, take a cable car ride and get up close and personal with the tigers.

If you’re all about scaring the living daylights out of yourself, then Q Station is just for you. Sydney Ghost tours takes you through one of Australia’s most haunted sites, and they say almost everyone will be a believer after experiencing this tour. If you’re not up for ghosts sighting, check out their history tours, less freaky more geeky!
If you’re not into all things scary, then check it out during the day. It’s still one of Sydney’s most interesting and unique historic landmarks with so many stories to tell.
Hop on a ferry and head over to Manly, where you’ll find our sister venue, Daniel San. With prime position on Manly Beach and some of the best sushi in the area, hop on in and check out this Okinawa inspired Japanese rock n’ roll bar.
Ask for the sake menu, it’s their best selling drink and they’ve got plenty to choose from!
Back for a second season (because yes, it’s that good), Muriel’s Wedding is everything you want in a musical. It will make you cry, laugh and leave wanting more! From June 28 catch this show at The Lyric Theatre.
A great activity for adults or kids. They’ll have tasty treats and ice-skating paired with their unlimited rides pass. Head there at night and be wow’d by the city lights.
