5 ways to spend the weekend that don’t involve drinking

As much as we love kicking off the weekend with a glass of vino or a refreshing cocktail, sometimes it can be nice to participate in some non-drinking related activities.

If anyone else is thinking it may be time to give your liver a rest or just looking to have some booze-free fun, we’ve compiled a list of ideas for how to spend the weekend sans drinking!

  1. Yoga and beach sesh

Looking to get your zen on? With so many yoga and pilates studios located near Bondi Beach, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to finding somewhere for a pre-beach workout. Not sure where to go? Try Power Living on Bondi Beach or KX pilates at the junction. After your workout head down to the beach for a refreshing ocean swim… What a way to kick start your detox weekend! Oh and one more thing – if you’re there on a Saturday make sure you check out the Bondi Farmers Markets. They have a huge range of fresh organic produce as well as cold pressed juices, smoothies, acai bowls, delicious salads… the works!

  1. Stand up paddle boarding

If you’re keen to soak up what’s left of the Sydney sun, paddle boarding is the way to go (move over sunbaking). It’s actually a great form of exercise, too. What’s even better is that you don’t realise you’re exercising (the best kind if you ask us). That is, until you wake up the next day and everything hurts… But it’s such a satisfying feeling, right? You can spend the day cruising Sydney’s most beautiful playground and discovering secret beaches! Make sure you book ahead of time to ensure availability.

  1. Beach hop

With so many beautiful beaches in Sydney’s east, it’s always tough to decide which one to visit. Luckily, beach hopping can solve your problem! We recommend starting at Camp Cove and then making your way to Watsons Bay Beach (pop in for an ice cream while you’re at it!) and Parsley Bay before venturing to our neighbouring suburbs. Check out Kutti Beach (Vaucluse’s best kept secret) or Red Leaf Beach in Double Bay. If you’re feeling adventurous you can jump on a quick 15 minute ferry from Watsons Bay wharf to Manly Beach, in keeping with the beach hopping theme!

  1. Treat yourself to a luxe dinner sans drinks

Biggest perk of an alcohol detox you ask? More money to spend on food (our signature sushi and sashimi boat might just be on the cards!) Why not take it as an opportunity to treat yourself to a fancy dinner…. Gather some pals, get all dolled up and head over to Beach Club for a feast overlooking the sunset (perfect excuse for a gram!) No drinks also means you’ll have calories to spare so dessert is totally justified… Our Tiramisu always goes down a treat.

  1. See a live performance

Outdoor cinema season has sadly come to a close but it’s not all bad news… We’ve got live performances, Shakespeare by the Bay, running from April 13th – 22nd. It’s held just across the road from us in Robertson Park so you can enjoy the shows overlooking stunning Sydney Harbour. Think picnic rugs, blankets, delicious food and top notch performances (hot date vibes!)
