Keep the Summer Vibes Going With Pimm’s

This month, everyone’s favourite cocktail, Pimm’s, is being featured at our Beach Club Bar, bringing a taste of British summertime to Sydney’s most iconic beach backdrop.

The drink was first created in London in the 1840’s by an English chap by the name of James Pimm, who was actually creating a gin-based herbal tonic to aid with digestion. Pimm sold the mixture in a small cup, which is how the legendary ‘Pimm’s No. 1 Cup’ name originated.

The end result was a warm citrus flavoured drink which pairs perfectly with ice cold lemonade and fresh fruit, the mix being coined ‘summer in a cup’.

Pimm’s has since risen to become the staple drink of luxurious English gatherings, particularly at posh summer garden parties and signature sports games such as the Wimbledon Tennis Tournament.

We think it’s only fitting that a drink enjoyed by British royalty is sipped alongside our world-renowned harbour views here at the Watsons Bay.

Pimm’s Original Recipe:

Ingredients:

50ml Pimm’s No. 1

150ml Lemonade

Orange, Mint, Strawberries

Cucumber to garnish and ice

Method:

Place all ingredients into a tall glass, mix and enjoy!
