Making a homemade dessert has never been simpler with this recipe straight from our kitchen!
At Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel, we always offer a beautiful array of desserts, cookies, loaves and cakes fresh from the kitchen! Our newest addition, Fruit and Nut Chocolate Bark, is the perfect choice for the dessert lover who we all know is continuously looking for the best chocolate dish in town.
Created fresh in house by our lovely pastry chef Abiva Giannina, or ‘G’, the bark is offered to all of our accommodation guests. Every bite of this dessert bark has different kinds of flavours thanks to the assortment of biscuits, cranberries, figs and pistachio nestled among the homemade chocolate.
Can’t make it to Watsons Bay? Are you feeling an incredible fear of missing out on this chocolate concoction? We’ve shared the recipe here to make sure we take care of our sweet toothed, dessert loving friends.
Combine the below in a bowl, place the bowl over boiling water to melt (don’t boil!)
1800g Golden Syrup
900g 61% Bittersweet Chocolate
675g Cocoa Powder
Once melted, remove from heat and add in the below:
1500g Digestive Biscuits
Line a shallow container with baking paper and pour the mixture in.
Set in fridge for 45 min.
Make shapes using cookie cutters and serve.
Not a fan of one of the fruits or nuts you see but love the idea of homemade chocolate bark? No problems! You can alter this dessert recipe to include different types of nuts and fruits. We’d recommend cashews, dried apricot or raisins to name a few.
